The King's Law
How it works
Twelve points handed down by the King. Point 12 makes any violation of the King's word or law blasphemy.
Enforcement
The senate enforces only the laws the King establishes, by exerting influence over the guilds and other organizations.
History
Taught by the King himself while he walked among the people, years 412 to 415 of the Age of Judgement.
Notes
The King's laws are the twelve points below. They bind everywhere. Breaking any of them is blasphemy, and the senate enforces them.
- I am your King. Your fealty will be to me alone.
- If you honor me I will honor you. If you curse me I will curse you.
- Whatever you do to honor me, it must be done with sincerity or not at all.
- Treat folks the way you want to be treated. There is no exception.
- Do no harm to the weak, the widow, the defenseless, or to a child. Do not kill or destroy what does not belong to you.
- Honor all of your promises, oaths, and obligations. There is no exception.
- Be satisfied and content with what you have. Never take another's belongings. There is no exception.
- Do not falsely, ignorantly, or maliciously complain about folks. Do not entice them to violate the King's law.
- Do not entice your neighbor's spouse to violate the King's law.
- Jealousy and envy of another's property will rob you of your peace.
- Greed, lust, and avarice lead to death. Always.
- The King's word is final. Any word or action that violates the King's word or law is blasphemy.
